20 Random Facts about me.
I was tagged by Hannah from Millennial Talks to do a 20 Random Facts About Me post, it seemed like the perfect way to share a bit more of me behind the scenes. Don’t forget to go and check out her blog, she’s a millennial blogger, covering lifestyle and travel.
So, here goes.
1.When was the last time you cried?
Probably the day my daughter was born. I’m not too much of an expressive emotional.
2. If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?
Yes, I’d like to think so. I value and respect straight forward personalities and brutal honesty. Even though its got me into a handful of trouble in the past, personally I honor it.
3. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Im actually more fluent in sarcasm than I am English.
4. What’s the first thing you notice about people?
Body posture and hands. One of the things that the Marines taught me and I’ve never let it go. I think that it also doubles as a great first impression reader. You can tell a lot about a person by their posture and hand usage/placement.
5. Scary movie or happy endings?
Happy Endings. For some odd reason (perhaps OCD) I have issues with making sure things are just and right. That closure and rectification, to me, must be attained; it seems that many horror movies leave the ending open or in question and that triggers a little anxiety for me.
6. Favourite smells?
Oddly, Bleach. Its my favorite smell ever. Clean, Crisp, Disinfected and Sanitary.
7. What’s the furthest you’ve ever been away from home?
Ive Traveled all over the world with the Marine Corps. Deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.
8. Do you have any special talents?
I wouldn’t say I have any special talents, but I am a quick learner so pick things up quickly.
9. Where were you born?
10. What are your hobbies?
I seem to be an impulsive person with my hobbies, I jump around a lot and dive deep into whatever I’m currently passionate about; however the most predominate ones are fitness, boxing, cooking, reading, writing, SCUBA, backpacking, and snowboarding. Ive been playing with the idea of trying photography but haven’t made the plunge yet.
11. What did you want to be when you were growing up?
Im sure like most kids it changed a hundred times before I reached high school, but steadily since 9th grade I was obsessed with the Marines. I enjoyed my time with them and wanted to make it a career early on; however, upon making it to rank that started to become more logistic and managerial I was still too young to want to take that lifestyle on. So I started over in the Fire Department and found another true calling to it. Similar to the life of military structure and adrenaline filled. Now that im older and more mature the idea of climbing a leadership role ladder is more appealing to me.
12. How many countries have you ever been to?
In no particular order; Iraq, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, Japan, Pakistan, Mexico, Germany, Ireland
13. What was your favourite and worst subject at school?
Favorite: Biology or Chemistry
14. What is your favourite drink?
Anything rich in caffeine! RedBull and a plethora of espresso drinks
15. What would you (or have you) named your kids?
I’ve always been very traditional about the naming of my kids. Ive always respected biblical naming and honoring family. So my oldest son (Noah Andrew) was named obviously biblically and Andrew for the man that raised me as his own son. My middle child (Benjamin Thomas) was named with similar fashion. Benjamin being Hebrew for the hand of God and Thomas for my biological father. Lastly, my baby girl (Allison Faye) wasn’t biblically named because I really didn’t fall in love with ladies names in the book. “Alli” is such an intoxicating name for me for some reason and it fits her so well, she turns me to mush, and Faye was her great grandmothers name.
16. Who are your favourite YouTubers?
I routinely watch Ricky Gutierrez and his instructionals on the Stock Market.
17. How many boyfriends/ girlfriends have you had?
Not many serious ones, maybe 6
18. Favourite memory from my childhood?
Im a mommas boy, most of my favorite memories are any of the things she provided for me. Little league sports and trips with her always have the most fond reminiscence.
19. How would you describe your fashion sense?
I don’t really know if I have “fashion sense”. One can always catch me in UnderArmor any day of the week.
20. Tell us one of your bad habits?
I absolutely hate talking on the phone. I can text message all day but something about holding a phone to my face really, really annoys me. So a horrible habit of mine is ignoring phone calls. If you need me, shoot me something in writing.
